Smart move to VQ for Michelsberg Tailoring

BESPOKE tailor Michelsberg Tailoring is to open a shop at the Victoria Quarter shopping centre as the operation looks to accelerate its growth plans.

The company, run by James Michelsberg, has taken a two floor premises at the Leeds venue and is moving from a smaller city centre site.

Mr Michelsberg launched the business five years ago and it has grown to boast a range including tailored suits, morning suit, jacket or overcoat.

Mr Michelsberg, who prides himself that his suits, which are priced from £675, are cut and sewn in Yorkshire, said Michelsberg Tailoring  was set to launch a range of shirts and a new Italian-style made-to-measure line.

He said: It’s been quite a journey. Five years ago, the business was born on the kitchen table, and many of my customers have followed me every step of the way, from a series of meeting rooms, serviced offices to even the gym and private dining room at the Malmaison Hotel in Leeds.

“I must say I felt rather proud on showing my father round the new gaff and pointing out the family name in gold letters.”

Paul Fox, of commercial property agent Fox Lloyd Jones, and David Coleman, of solicitors Lee & Priestley, acted on the letting.

The shop’s interior is to be designed by Karen Gill and the outlet is expected to open in June.
