Media Buzz: Front fronts Cafeology; New PR head for Golley Slater; Rippleffect helps Visit Leeds; and more

CAFEOLOGY, the Sheffield-based supplier of Fairtrade beverages to restaurants and cafes, has appointed fellow city advertising agency Front to develop its brand communications.

The communications will be based around the theme ‘100% Fairtrade in Everything We Do’.

The new drive will reflect Cafeology’s values of only supplying Fairtrade products, including coffee, tea, chocolate and sugar, that are ethically sourced from farmers in Colombia, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic and Malawi.

Bryan Unkles, managing director, at Cafeology, said: “The demand for Fairtrade products is growing all the time as more and more people begin to realise their importance.

“Consumers are now very switched on to the issues around Fairtrade and we are sure this new campaign will help us communicate with our trade customers in an even more targeted and effective way.”

DIGITAL agency Rippleffect has launched an email marketing campaign for Visit Leeds to showcase the city’s tourist attractions and entice visitors during the festive period.

The ‘Festive Leeds’ campaign was sent to more than 40,000 inboxes, offering visitors to www.yourfestiveleeds.com the chance to win one of two activity packed weekends in Leeds in 2010.

By answering several simple questions, site visitors will discover their Leeds personality and receive advice on where to eat, sleep and visit whilst in the city.

Rippleffect worked with Visit Leeds, the official tourism body for Leeds, to interrogate visitor data and analyse findings.

Andrew Binns, senior business development manager at Rippleffect, said: “With an attractive prize that encourages people to forward to contacts, the campaign is a cost effective way to gather behavioural information, while raising awareness of what’s on offer in Leeds during the festive period.”
