Morrisons increases market share

SUPERMARKET giant Morrisons has further narrowed the gap with its closest rivals in the grocery market, according to new research.
The group followed its 9.5% surge in Christmas sales with an extra share of the £32bn UK grocery market to 11.5% for the three months to January 27.
TNS Worldpanel data said Tesco and Sainsbury's lost out to the Bradford-based group, with market share falls of 5.4% and 5% respectively.
Across the grocery sector, sales grew by 6% in the three month period.
