COLIN Glass is a chartered accountant and non-exec director with a wealth of experience. He is a non-executive director of numerous companies, including Surgical Innovations Group plc, TheBusinessDesk.com and GETECH Group.
During his 50 year career in business Colin has always been interested in helping small businesses develop to full potential, and adding value.
He is one of the most networked business people in Yorkshire, an award-winning non-exec director and from his Leeds office plays an active role helping Yorkshire businesses in a financial capacity. Applying a ‘hands-on’ and 24 hours a day approach, Colin has been involved in a range of diverse businesses, from start-ups and SMEs to AIM listed technology firms.
In some instances he has been appointed as a non-executive finance director to the board of a company, and has also taken a small equity stake.
He is a non-executive director of Partnership Investment Fund a £37m fund set with funding from Barclays Bank, to support SMEs in the Objective 2 areas of Yorkshire and The Humber.
He is also a non-executive finance director of a number of private companies which WGN (www.wgn.co.uk) are helping to develop with a view to a trade sale or even an AIM or full market flotation.
In 2007 Colin Glass was awarded Business Advisor of the Year by the Institute of Directors Yorkshire and Humber, and in 2010 was named as Non Exec Director of the Year by Ernst & Young. He continues to be one of the UK’s most respected finance directors with half a century of business experience.
