People: Two additions to law firm’s commercial property team; Listed engineering firm makes director appointment; and more

Carley Jackson and Matthew Jones join LCF Law.

Law firm LCF Law has appointed Carley Jackson and Matthew Jones as solicitors within the commercial property division.

Both completed their training contracts with the firm, and they join the 11-strong team specialising in all areas of commercial property, including commercial leases, option agreements, portfolio and pension fund management, property development, planning, property finance, extended leases, buying freeholds and property disputes.

Jackson and Jones will be based at the firm’s Bradford office.

Paul Anderson, who heads up the commercial property department at LCF Law, says: “We work with a mix of developers, investors, retailers, leisure operators, insolvency practitioners, rural landowners, construction firms, landlords and lending institutions, and it’s a thriving department with plenty of variety in terms of the legal work we carry out.

“Both Carley and Matthew proved themselves to be talented trainees and having fully qualified, we were keen to offer them both a role, as we feel they will bolster our team’s offering, as we continue to gain new clients and service our existing ones.”

James Holdsworth

Orchard Facilities Management has appointed its first associate director as the company pushes ahead with plans to become a key national player in the FM sector.

The Huddersfield-based firm has promoted James Holdsworth to the role of associate director of client services ahead of a major recruitment drive that will significantly increase the head count of the external account management team.

Managing director Gareth Henderson said the appointment was strategically important at a time of such rapid growth.

He said: “It is vital that we have the infrastructure in place to ensure client care isn’t compromised as we expand.

“James’s role will be to make sure we are doing all we can to develop our relationships with the businesses we work with and this will include being responsible for building the external account management team and working on core customer service and development skills with staff.”

Orchard Facilities Management works with businesses nationwide offering a range of outsourced operational and compliance services including waste management, IT managed services, fire safety and security, pest control, electrical testing and maintenance.

Renew, the engineering services group, has welcomed David Brown as a non-executive director.

Brown is currently group chief executive of The Go-Ahead Group, a position he has held since 2011. Prior to that, Brown was managing director of surface transport for Transport for London and chief executive of Go-Ahead’s London Bus business.

Renew’s chairman, Roy Harrison, said: “I very much welcome David to our board. He will bring a wealth of additional knowledge and experience, particularly in the transport sector in which we have substantial operational involvement.”
