Fashion retailer launches 22,800 sq ft store

Discount designer store T.K. Maxx is to launch a 22,800 sq ft store at Frenchgate Shopping Centre in Doncaster this summer.

The brand opened its first European store in Bristol in 1994 and now has more than 350 sites across the UK and Ireland.

On behalf of The Frenchgate Limited Partnership, Paul Devlin said: “Frenchgate is constantly evolving and we are delighted to welcome an exciting, nationally recognised retailer like T.K. Maxx who will further strengthen the fashion and home offer.

“The ongoing development of the centre has generated interest from numerous leading brands along with traders continuing to report strong sales figures. In addition, Yours has signed a ten-year lease extension and committed to a complete store refit.”

This news follows the recent signing for New Look Men, which recently launched a 3,500 sq ft store. In the past 12 months, Frenchgate has seen 20 new store openings and refits including Topshop and JD Sports, who upsized to an 8,500 sq ft store taking almost three times its original unit.  This is in addition to the new H&M fit out taking place this year.

This all comes as part of a £7m redevelopment within the centre, comprising more than 100,000 sq ft and approximately £4m of retailer investment in store fit outs.

Rawstron Johnson and Time Retail acted for Frenchgate, which is managed by Lambert Smith Hampton’s Belfast office.
