Dental business all smiles with fourth site launch after £1.2m investment

A fast-growing dental business has launched a fourth site after securing £1.2m in bank funding.

Shaikh and Latif already has practices in Barnsley, Dewsbury and Chester, with the newest site in Leeds, called yourfamilydentist, marking a further stage in their growth plan.

This follows on shortly from another practice the company acquired in Dewsbury in the latter half of last year.

Shaikh and Latif started their business by acquiring one of the largest NHS dental practices in Barnsley in October 2013.

Dr. Arif Shaikh, dental surgeon and joint-owner of Shaikh and Latif, said: “Expanding our business into Leeds means we’ll be able to address the shortage of NHS dentists in the surrounding area, as well as creating more job opportunities. In the future, we plan to expand further into the North and North West.”

Richard Couldwell, relationship manager at Yorkshire Bank, who arranged the funding, said: “We were delighted to support Shaik and Latif in expanding their business once more in such a short space of time. We look forward to seeing how their business continues to grow.”
