Dreamboats and Petticoats The Musical
Enjoy the nostalgia at Sheffield’s Lyceum Theatre this weekend, where Dreamboats and Petticoats are currently on stage. The musical, based in 1961, follows the story of young musicians Norman and Bobby, who compete to win a song writing competition. However, they soon find that they are competing for the attention of the beautiful Sue. The show features classic songs, including Bobby’s Girl and Let’s Twist Again. Find out more here.
Made in Leeds Festival
There is a lot of fun to be had at Thwaite Mills this weekend, with Made in Leeds festival taking place there on Saturday. The festival will bring the city’s very best bands together for a day of music and celebration. Music in The Gardens
Sheffield’s Botanical Gardens will be hosts to their Music in The Gardens event this weekend, with plenty for the whole family to enjoy. Friday June 30 will see The Bootleg Beatles take to the stage, follows by 10CC on the Saturday evening and a Night at the Movies special on the Sunday. Good Mourning Mrs. Brown
The hilarious Mrs. Brown returns to the First Direct Arena in Leeds this weekend for what is set to be her best show yet. After making viewers fall in love with Mrs. Brown and her family and friends on the hit TV show Mrs. Brown’s Boys, the cast are on the road again with their latest show Good Mourning Mrs. Brown, which sees the family planning Grandad Brown’s funeral. What We’re Made Of
Young people from First Floor, the West Yorkshire Playhouse’s youth arts venue, bring their showcase to the theatre on Saturday night. Working with the theme ‘what we’re made of’, the youngsters have worked with dancers, musicians and film makers to create a collection of performances. Find out more here.
