Construction firm gets to work on £4m West Yorkshire school build

The Yorkshire office of Bardsley Construction has been appointed by Calderdale Council to deliver a £4m English and Humanities Faculty building at Todmorden High School.
The £65m turnover family-owned firm will design and construct a two-storey steel frame building to house the faculty, along with the provision of a replacement multi-use games area and additional car parking.
The contract also includes the demolition of prefabricated temporary buildings and re-roofing works to the existing school buildings.
Bardsley recently started construction of the faculty building with a completion date of April 2018.
Working in partnership on the contract with Bardsley are AHR Architects, mechanical & engineering consultant Ramboll UK and structural engineer Mott Macdonald.
Rick Smeaton, Bardsley regional manager in Yorkshire, said: “This prestigious contract with Calderdale Council provides the Yorkshire region office of Bardsley with a further opportunity to enhance our well-earned reputation for the delivery of high quality and bespoke educational facilities, adding to our growing portfolio of construction projects across Yorkshire, the North West of England and the Midlands.”
