People: Promotions and new partner appointment at Schofield Sweeney; RSM hires from PwC; and more

Schofield Sweeney has announced a raft of internal promotions and the arrival of a new partner.

John Feaster has been promoted to partner in the tax team, Manjit Virdee moves up to partner level in the property department and Emma Gledhill takes on a director role in the residential conveyancing team.

Jennifer Clarke has been promoted to director in the education/procurement team.

The firm has also welcomed new partner John Robinson to the employment team.

Kevin O’Connor and Chris Etherington

Audit, tax and consulting firm RSM has appointed Chris Etherington as a private client tax partner in its Leeds office.

Prior to joining RSM, Etherington trained and then worked for PwC for almost 12 years.  As a leading member of PwC’s private client and private business team in Leeds, he specialised in providing tax advice to individuals and family owned businesses across the region.

He has a breadth of experience advising entrepreneurs, management teams and high-net worth individuals on how income, capital gains, property and inheritance taxes may impact on their affairs – assisting on matters ranging from succession to cross-border issues. He also has particular expertise in supporting fast-growing companies in the technology, media and telecoms sector.

In his new role, Etherington will provide compliance and advisory support for a growing number of private clients to manage tax, wealth and succession planning, whilst working closely with the Yorkshire private client team to grow the practice and its offering.

Sheffield and London based creative agency Born + Raised has recruited seven staff.

Chloe Lowe joins as head of digital, along with Abbas Arezoo as senior digital designer to strengthen the agency’s digital capabilities. Jennie Bennett joins as designer to bolster the design team and Sophie Ziegler-Jones has been appointed as traffic manager.

There have been additions in account handling and operations – Joe Fenton joins as account manager and Tamaris Roberts as office manager. Finally, Tanya Addy has been appointed as marketing manager in a new post focused on raising the profile of the agency and supporting business development.
