Online retailer creates 100 jobs with warehouse move
Online retailer Buy It Direct, is creating 100 jobs with a move to a 120,000 sq ft warehouse.
The company has outgrown its Huddersfield site and is now moving to a site in Elland, with help from a £6.75m commercial loan from HSBC.
Buy It Direct is employing 100 staff in logistics, digital and customer service roles as it expands.
The fit-for-purpose warehouse will enable the company to continue growing as it consolidates its operations into one site.

The new warehouse offers fresh market opportunity for Buy It Direct and investment in the local economy through a significant number of new jobs.”
Nick Glynne, managing director of Buy It Direct said: “This fantastic new facility allows us to meet customer demand and gives us the ability to grow our business. Despite the problems caused by Brexit, we are very positive about the future for the business.”
The deal was completed by HSBC’s David Logan, corporate director and Ash Khan, corporate bank manager.
Buy It Direct is based in Huddersfield. It employs 350 peple and turns over £145m annually.
