126,000 sq ft industrial site deal keeps £145m turnover retailer in region

A £145m turnover online retailer, which sells kitchen appliances, drones, laptops, TVs and furniture, has signed for a 126,000 sq ft industrial site in West Yorkshire.

Buy It Direct has exchanged contracts to buy the unit on Lowfields Industrial Estate in Elland.

“We have needed to consolidate our warehousing for some time,” said Nick Glynne, MD of Buy It Direct.

“The lack of large second hand sheds in good locations in the region meant we were about to relocate down south but at the last-minute I was delighted we found this site local to our head office.”

The business employs 320 people.

“This new site will help realise our ambition of becoming the most profitable online pureplay retailer of consumer electronics and furniture in the UK,” added Glynne.

The agents were JLL, while Levi & Co acted for the buyer.
