Student accommodation development
Construction of a new £8.5m student accommodation project with 190 bedrooms is about to begin near to Bramall Lane, Sheffield.
It will be the fourth project that North Midland Construction Group and Victoria Hall Management have worked on together and follows the announcement earlier this year of a £24m student development, currently underway on the adjacent site.
Both are located on Denby Street, near to Sheffield United Football Club’s ground. The latest site will house an 11-storey building, almost twice the height of its sister development. With 190 en-suite bedrooms, it will feature 40 apartment clusters, each including a kitchen and living area.
Nick Banks, operations director of NM Group’s building division said: “Work is underway to excavate and prep the site, ready for building works to commence. This was previously an area of wasteland and we are looking forward to transforming it over the next 14 months ready for Sheffield’s thriving student community.”
NM Group is due to complete work on the first development in June 2018, ready for the new academic year. The newly commissioned project will run until Autumn 2018.
