National Business Awards shortlist unveiled

EMIS Group and Harvard Engineering are among the businesses shortlisted in the 2011 National Business Awards in partnership with Orange.

Harvard Engineering, which has developed a system to remotely dim street lights and save energy waste, is shortlisted for the Orange Innovation Award, while medical software provider Emis is among those competing for the Grant Thornton Mid-Cap Business of the Year.

Trustmarque Solutions, based in York, has been shortlisted for the Transformational Change of the Year award while Huthwaite International in Rotherham is one of ten companies competing in the BlackBerry Business Enabler of the Year category.

The Wentworth company is a leading behaviour change consultancy and specialises in consulting and training on all aspects of sales.

The awards, which are being supported for the first time this year by TheBusinessDesk.com, feature more than 150 of Britain’s most innovative and sustainable public and private sector businesses in its shortlist.

Finalists will make their presentations in person before a judging panel in September and October at Coutts & Co in London with the awards dinner taking place on November 8 at the Grosvenor House Hotel, in London.
