Homebuilder makes fourth Sheffield City Region land purchase of the year
Yorkshire homebuilder Avant Homes Avant Homes has purchased a second parcel of land at Waverley in Rotherham – its fourth land acquisition in South Yorkshire in the last 12 months.
The homebuilder has exchanged contracts with owners Harworth Group for the 14.06-acre site and has submitted a planning application to build a mix of 220 three and four-bedroom properties, alongside the 61 family homes currently under construction at its Sorby Row development.
Elsewhere works are also underway on 39 homes at Heartwood and 62 homes at The Brickworks, two developments in Stannington, Sheffield.
With a combined value of £101m, the four new sites will bring a total of 382 homes to the Sheffield City Region once completed.

Waverley’s location offers great links to both Rotherham and Sheffield. The masterplan for the 740-acre site includes a planned 3,890 new homes (with 750 already built) alongside the world-renowned Advanced Manufacturing Park – home to Boeing, Rolls-Royce, McLaren Automotive and the University of Sheffield’s Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) – and a planned local centre including a range of retail and community facilities.

Revenues increased 45% year-on-year to £369m, whilst operating profits rose 107 per cent to £45m. These were delivered having achieved 1,636 total completions, up 35% compared with the prior year.
