Work starts on housing scheme near Harrogate

Work has started on a housing development near Harrogate.
Developer Newby is bringing forward the scheme at West House Gardens in Birstwith in a joint venture with Castle Homes.
The circa 4.7 acre site has planning permission in place for 27 homes, ranging from three to six bedrooms.
A show suite is set to open in early 2019 ahead of the official launch of the homes in March.
Newby has also submitted a planning application to develop out the remainder of the site with a further five homes ranging from three to five bedrooms with landscaped gardens as well as a mixture of one to three bedroom units for affordable housing.
Nick Moody, director at Newby, said: “We are delighted to be embarking on West House Gardens. The site is ideally located in the popular village of Birstwith where homeowners will be able to enjoy some of the most beautiful surroundings in the Nidderdale Valley.
“We are looking forward to seeing the work progress in order to contribute to the housing supply in North Yorkshire.”
