£2.5m university campus medical centre completes

Leeds-based Evans Property Group has completed a £2.5m medical centre at its Kimberlow Hill Retail Park adjacent to the University of York’s Heslington East campus.
It is expected that the centre, comprising 10,500 sq ft and run by Unity Health, will attract around 75,000 visitors annually.
It replaces the existing University of York campus surgery and incorporates the surgery from Hull Road and will serve the local community as well as 16,000 students and 4,500 university staff.
New facilities include 16 clinical consulting rooms, a suite of rooms fitted for minor surgery procedures, and dedicated phlebotomy room as well as a 50-seater seminar room available for community use and 57-seat waiting room.
Richard Bean, senior asset manager at Evans Property Group, said: “We are delighted to announce completion of the new Medical Centre operated by Unity Health, together with a number of additional retail outlets to include Greggs bakery and Nisa Local, designed to satisfy the growing needs of the Heslington East campus and surrounding areas.
“The new Medical Centre now more effectively supports the health and wellbeing of the local community, as well as university students and staff.”
