People: New appointments at Taylor&Emmet; Surveyor appointed at property firm; and more

Sheffield’s Taylor&Emmet LLP has appointed two highly regarded solicitors.

Nicola Keith and Tom Haywood have joined the firm’s commercial property and corporate law teams respectively.

Having worked previously at Larken and Co. in Newark for two years, Keith has relocated to Sheffield to join Taylor&Emmet. She will be working on a wide range of commercial property matters and assisting head of department, Richard Kay, on large or complex cases.

Haywood, previously of Bell and Buxton in Sheffield, qualified as a solicitor in March. He will be focusing on corporate matters, including business sales and purchases and shareholder and partnership agreements, as well as undertaking some insolvency work.

Rob Moore, head of Taylor&Emmet’s business legal services team, said: “Nicola and Tom both have the technical ability, ambition and positive attitude to be real attributes to our corporate clients. The wide range of work we handle will enable them to broaden their practical experience and I have no doubt they will continue to develop skills that will enhance our expanding department.”

To meet rising demand for its business services, Taylor&Emmet has also welcomed chartered legal executive, Anna Pettinger and paralegal, Natasha Goulbourne, to its commercial litigation and commercial property teams.

Alex Carter has been appointed as estates surveyor by Ripon-based Potter Group, which owns, develops and operates five commercial business parks across the UK.

Having gained a degree in Building Surveying, he joined construction and property consultants, Summers-Inman as part of a team managing a large utility company’s maintenance contract with more than 8500 sites, before moving to Sanderson Weatherall where he covered all aspects of building surveys during his three years with the company.

 

In his new role Carter will be responsible for all property related activities across Potter Group’s five business parks in Selby, Ripon, Knowsley, Droitwich, Ely.

Potter Group’s property director, Robert Barker, said: “The Potter Group is entering an exciting phase in its development and we therefore need to build a strong team to manage our growing portfolio of properties and sites. Alex is a perfect fit for the company, as he brings with him the all-round knowledge and experience of property related issues, including financial accountabilities, and he will be a great asset as we continue to expand.”
