Housing developer builds for expansion with head office move to South Yorkshire

Housing developer Linden Homes East Yorkshire has completed the move of its new head office to Doncaster.

Linden Homes said that moving to a new larger office space at South Quay, Lakeside Boulevard, is “a strategic relocation designed to assist the company in entering into new markets.”

Around 40 office-based staff have made the 40 mile move from Hessle in Hull, the company’s previous head office since 2010.

Mark Connors, Linden Homes East Yorkshire regional managing director, said: “Firstly, due to the expansion of our business unit’s geographical spread, our new office positions us into a central location giving us the potential to search for development opportunities within South Yorkshire, North Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.

“More importantly, being based in Doncaster means we can maintain building developments in our existing patch; part of East Yorkshire, North Yorkshire and North East Lincolnshire. The move will allow us to increase our volume and maximise our opportunities.”

The office move also allows Linden Homes East Yorkshire to be more active in Derbyshire and North Nottinghamshire.

Connors added: “Nottinghamshire offers us access to the vibrancy of Nottingham city centre with its bustling shopping area, nightlife, leisure facilities and educational prowess. The surrounding towns and villages have seen expansion and considerable investment in recent years and are very attractive propositions for new homes.

“Derbyshire has been voted as one of the best places in the country to live, with its economic centre at Derby and its array of amazing attractions on the doorstep. The Peak District National Park opens the County to a vast area of natural beauty and some of the smaller towns are amongst the most aspirational locations to live in the country.”

During 2018, the business has acquired land at existing and new locations to build 1,370 plots with and estimated GDV of £288m.

A single land deals for a further 40 plots, with a GDV of £7m, is already poised for completion in 2019.

Connors said: “The continued regional growth we have seen has been extremely encouraging and is allowing us to build our reputation for delivering desirable, sustainable and high quality developments in our existing and new operational area.

“We are delighted to be able to work with key agents and land owners to meet the demand for housing with many developments in the pipeline. I would like to thank our Doncaster team for all their hard work, as they continue to strengthen our relationships with home owners, subcontractors, consultants and service providers.”
