Leisure development 100% pre-let ahead of Spring opening

A multi-million pound leisure destination in Doncaster has been 100% pre-let.

The Lakeside Triangle scheme, which sits opposite the existing VUE Cinema at Lakeside, comprises eight units featuring three restaurants, a coffee shop, dessert parlour and three drive thru units.

Construction of the council-led scheme is well underway, with units available for handover to the occupiers in late Spring 2019.

Pre-lets have been signed with TGI’s, Costa Coffee, Creams Desserts, Urban Fresh Burgers & Fries, Estabulo Brazilian Restaurant, Taco Bell, Dunkin’ Donuts and Burger King.

Richard Shuttleworth of Pudney Shuttleworth Leisure Property Specialists, who has agreed the lettings, said: “Having just signed Doncaster company, Urban Burgers for the final unit, the scheme can open fully let in late Spring / early Summer 2019.

“Against the backdrop of a difficult mainstream casual dining market we are all delighted to have achieved our objective, with the team working extremely well together to make this development happen. It is testament to the fundamentals of the site and the Doncaster catchment that we have been able to secure such a fantastic and varied line up”.

Simon Maxton of Doncaster Council added: “In conjunction with the significant leisure anchors already trading at Lakeside Triangle, along with the Premier Inn Hotel and Retail Outlet Village less than a mile away, we believe Lakeside Triangle will become a regional destination, widening the Doncaster retail and leisure catchment further and giving our existing residents a truly first class leisure destination they can be proud of.

Mehmet Kocakgol, co-owner of Urban Fresh Burgers & Fries, said: “We didn’t need any convincing on Lakeside Triangle as a location for our new restaurant. With Doncaster being our home town, we wanted our flagship store to be in the best location in the town. Urban is a premium casual dining restaurant that already has a huge loyal customer base and rivals every other multinational chain.

“From our fresh beef burgers to our hand-cut fries, all of our food is of the highest standard. We are very confident that our business will thrive in what will become a major regional leisure destination in Doncaster.”

Doncaster Council, again advised by Leisure Property Agents Pudney Shuttleworth, is now proposing a town centre six screen cinema and restaurant development in the Civic and Cultural Quarter of Doncaster town centre.

The site is adjacent to the established and successful CAST Theatre which already welcomes in excess of 120,000 visitors a year and construction is programmed to start in early 2019.
