Turnover and profits falls at construction consultancy

The Turner & Townsend Contract Services division of global professional services firm Turner & Townsend has seen both profits and turnover fall during the financial year ending 30 April.
The Leeds-headquartered firm reported a turnover of £16.8m, which is a 17% drop from last year’s £20.7m. Pre-tax profits also fell from the £2.6m achieved in 2017, to £2.02m.
Despite these losses, the division did record an 18.4% increase in employees with the number of staff members rising by nine to 58.
Turner & Townsend is a programme management and construction consultancy, which helps organisations manage risks while maximising value and performance during the construction and operation of their assets.
This announcement follows on from Turner & Townsend reporting a global turnover of £548m for the same period. The firm also saw pre-tax profits jump to £54.6m from £46.5m the previous year.
As well as success across the UK, revenue growth was also particularly strong in Africa, the Americas and Australia.
