Plans approved for £8m Porsche showroom

Plans have been approved for the construction of an £8m Porsche showroom on the edge of Hull, creating up to 50 new jobs.

Based at the Bridgehead Business Park, the development will comprise a 22-car, double-height showroom alongside 14 state-of-the-art workshop bays, MOT bays and associated car parking.

Lister Group and Wykeland Group submitted the proposals last December. The franchise will be the first Porsche Centre for family-owned Listers, which already operate other luxury car brands across Hull, Lincolnshire and the Midlands.

The plans were approved by East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s planning committee during a council committee meeting on 14 February.

At the time of the submission of the plans, managing director, Geoff Lister said: “This is an exciting development both for the city and our company and is part of Porsche’s strategic plan to expand its dealer network to take advantage of growing demand in the luxury car market.”

Dominic Gibbons, managing director of the Wykeland Group, developer of Bridgehead, added: “This is the latest in a series of significant investments by blue chip companies at Bridgehead and especially exciting as it will bring one of the world’s most prestigious motoring brands to East Yorkshire.”
