A Yorkshire law firm is set to enter the Nottingham market after securing a deal to take an office block in the Hockley area of the city.

Progress Law Solicitors, of Halifax, which trades under the Direct Solicitors name, will move into 15 Hockley in a deal brokered by FHP Property Consultants.

The offices were formerly used as a marketing suite for the long-gone Nottingham Eastside regeneration scheme and have been empty for over a decade. The news comes on the day that Conygar was given planning permission to build its huge new scheme on the Boots Island site.

Anthony Barrowcliffe of FHP said: “My instruction was clear, to find a A2 occupier quickly preventing a void period and mitigating all costs associated with an empty building alongside a good level of rental return. We managed to do this, and I am thrilled that all parties are happy with the terms agreed.”

Progress Law has take a five-year lease on the three-storey building.
