£3m business park is ready to begin trading

Up to 100 new jobs could be created thanks to the completion of a business park in Huddersfield.

The £3m, 2.73 acre Bridge Business Park, was developed by West Yorkshire property firm Frank Marshall Estates, which bought the land from Mamas & Papas in 2015.

The site is next to the headquarters of Mamas & Papas in Colne Bridge Road, off the main A62 Leeds Road and close to Junction 25 of the M62.

Frank Marshall Estates is run by Edward and Jimmy Marshall and has significant commercial assets across Yorkshire.

Edward Marshall said: “The M62 corridor is now one of the hotspots for industrial property in West Yorkshire, providing swift access to both the East Coast and the West Coast ports, as well as linking into the UK’s motorway network. It’s logistics gold dust.

“The success of Muse’s Logic Leeds by Junction 45 of the M1, just five minutes from the M62, and our own Newhall Business Park in Bradford, again just five minutes away from the M62, is proof that the corridor in West Yorkshire is now one of the prime industrial property and logistics locations in the whole of Yorkshire.”

Sniffers Pet Care, a pet food wholesaler and distributor, has already taken 6,250 sq ft of light industrial space at Bridge Business Park. The company has signed a five-year lease.

Marshall added: “We look forward to welcoming other flourishing companies in the wake of Sniffers’ move.

“There is a good deal of interest in the remaining four units and we advise any prospective occupiers to come and take a look for themselves.

“This business park is an extremely significant project for us. We have created a high-quality employment park, which will create up to 100 jobs.

“There is a distinct lack of high-quality, flexible light industrial units in the Huddersfield area, so we are looking to satisfy the pent-up demand from small-to-medium-sized businesses, who are looking for attractive, practical and modern premises, combining warehousing and distribution with hi-tech office facilities.

“There are four business units on the park now left, ranging from 6,000 sq ft to 10,750 sq ft. They are built in three blocks, arranged around a central service courtyard, providing room for vehicles to turn round and park.

“Although we have extensive interests in West Yorkshire, this is our first major development in Huddersfield.

“We are proud to be contributing to the area’s economy, by building bespoke business/industrial units and creating jobs.”

Mark Hanson of West Yorkshire property consultancy Walker Singleton, incorporating Hansons, who are marketing the site, said: “Considerable interest has already been expressed by a number of prospective tenants, which isn’t surprising given its winning combination of location and quality.”

Simon Brown, of Sniffers, said: “We are expanding rapidly, with growth up 25%, year on year.

“We had outgrown our previous premises and our new home at Bridge Business Park is ideal. The quality of the units is exceptional, with superb workmanship.

“The location, meanwhile, is perfect. So it’s just right for us, providing an excellent base from where we can continue to expand and flourish.”
