Investment in digital remains a priority for Yorkshire businesses

Digital innovation and connected customer experiences, continue to be the hallmark of successful businesses.

With fierce competition and rising expectations putting consumers firmly in the driving seat, businesses are realising that engaging with customers on an emotional level is more important than ever.

In a recent survey commissioned by 9xb eCommerce, targeting senior executives from a range of companies in the region, it was clear that investment in digital remains a priority for Yorkshire businesses.

88% of respondents said their website was important or critical to the company’s success, with a significant proportion planning to transition into eCommerce over the next 12 months.

With lack of resources and digital expertise cited as the biggest blockers to growth, specialist eCommerce agencies like 9xb, based in Harrogate and Leeds, are seeing significant demand for their services.

Over the last 15 years, 9xb has established impressive credentials in the eCommerce space with recent client wins including Laura Ashley Hotels, Benchmarx Kitchens, Gravity Fitness, and Cycle Solutions.

These add to a roll call of big name brands – Euro Car Parts, bathstore, and The Post Office to name a few – all of which run eCommerce stores on 9xb’s Peracto platform.

An end to end eCommerce solution provider, 9xb’s services include eCommerce strategy, multi-channel digital marketing, eCommerce store development, website hosting, monitoring and support.

9xb’s success comes from its practical and flexible approach to overcoming complex problems. Both its service offering and eCommerce platform are customisable to meet the exact needs of clients, making it an attractive proposition for growing businesses who need to adapt quickly to change.

Coming off the back of a consistent period of company growth, during which the business increased its headcount by 24%, opened its 9xb Tech site in Leeds City Centre and relocated its Harrogate studio, 9xb Ltd has launched a new website positioning its eCommerce growth services for retailers and businesses who transact online. The site details 9xb’s full service offering, providing examples of recent projects.

While the digital landscape is undeniably challenging, companies which responded to our survey are seeing return from their digital investment.

Of the businesses who rated website traffic excellent or good, 50% allocated more than 25% of their marketing budget to digital with plans to increase spend over the next 12 months. This mirrors what we’re seeing globally, with retailers competing to offer the best online experiences, and online sales continuing to grow.

Rob Burns, 9xb’s Managing Director, said: “Over the last 15 years, we have achieved significant growth for leading eCommerce brands, and wanted to clearly demonstrate our credentials across strategy, technology and digital marketing through our new website.

“Although we are an established agency, our recent re-branding exercise firmly sets out our stall as an eCommerce specialist, and moves us away from the myriad of digital agencies out there.

“With companies continuing to invest heavily in eCommerce, and looking for alternative, more flexible solutions, 9xb is in a fantastic place to help retailers overcome barriers to growth and to capitalise on the continued growth of online.”
