A proposed new housing settlement on the outskirts of York has increased its affordable allocation from 30% to 40%, which could mean the delivery of over 700 new homes for low income families. Galtres Garden Village is a proposed development of land to the north of North Lane and Monk’s Cross and includes the delivery of up to 1740 new homes that can be delivered over the next ten years.
