PwC reveals new Regional Leader for the North

A senior manager at big four firm PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC), who is originally from Leeds and has been with the company for more than 30 years, will be the firm’s new Regional Leader for the North.

Ian Green started his career in audit in Newcastle, then moved to Leeds to join the Business Recovery Service (BRS) practice. Having led the practice in the North, he moved to London as the Business Unit leader of BRS in 2014 and at the same time joined the Deals Leadership Team.

PwC has decided to bring together its North West and Yorkshire & North East practices under the stewardship of one regional leader.

Green will take over from Iwan Griffiths who was North West Regional Chairman and Ian Morrison who was Yorkshire & North East Regional Leader. Griffiths is moving to a new national financial services role with a focus on the regions and Morrison will continue to sit within the firm’s audit business as an Audit partner.

Green said: “I’m delighted to be returning home to the region. I want to continue to build on the work that has been done over the last few years to help the businesses in the region grow, using the strength and depth of talent we have across the North.”

Morrison said: “Leading, growing and working closely with our team across Yorkshire & North East for the last six years has been a privilege.

“A lot has changed in that time, both in the way we deliver services for our clients, and in the firm itself. We now have over 1,000 staff across the region and we have opened our new office in Leeds.

“I’ve really enjoyed being able to play a key role in leading our team as we continue to help our clients achieve their objectives. We now have a much greater diversity of skill and talent to enable us to do this and I am sure we will continue to see this develop under Ian Green’s leadership.”

Green, concluded: “I’d like to take this opportunity to thank both Ian and Iwan for their hard work and dedication in the way they have transformed and grown PwC’s regional presence across the Yorkshire & North East and the North West.

“Moving forward there’s no doubt that as a professional services firm we are going to have to redefine ourselves, creating career opportunities within the regions by tapping into the pool of talent that increasingly comes from a variety of sources.

“Bringing in people with different backgrounds and experience will ensure we continue to be able to solve important problems and respond to our clients’ needs.”
