Lord Haskins to step down from Humber LEP

Lord Chris Haskins is to step down as Chair of the Humber Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) after eight years in the role.

A dedicated supporter of the Humber, Lord Haskins has used this role to widely promote the region’s interests and has ensured the views of Humber businesses are always represented in Government.

Lord Haskins, who has led the LEP since December 2011, made the announcement at a LEP Board meeting on Friday, September 13, where discussion focussed on finalising the Humber Local Industrial Strategy for agreement with Government in the coming weeks. He will step down once a new Chair has been appointed.

The new Chair is expected to be appointed before the end of the year. Two additional private sector Board members will also be appointed to fill existing vacancies. An open recruitment process will be launched shortly.

Lord Haskins said: “Eight years is a very long time to be a Chair and it is more than time for someone else to take over as Chair of the Humber LEP. Now is the right time for a change.

“I have every confidence the LEP will find an excellent replacement, who can carry on the encouraging progress we’ve seen taking place in the Humber, and can lead the organisation through any future challenges.”
