Where do you live/where are you from?

I was born in Glasgow, but have lived in Leeds from the age of three. I grew up in Bramley and lived there until I was 39. After which, I moved to Monk Fryston, North Yorkshire.

What is your favourite place to visit in Yorkshire and why?

The Yorkshire Dales as they have some of the best motorbiking roads in the UK. If you have a motorbike, have a look at the routes around the dales and some of the views when you’re up there.

What is still on your “to do” list in the region?

It is just ‘down the road’, I know, but I’d still like to visit Knaresborough.

What is the most memorable meal you’ve ever had in Yorkshire?

My wife and I once went to the Rythre Arms Pub in Tadcaster, and it is one of the best steaks I’ve had.

What is your most Yorkshire trait?

Even though I was born in Scotland, I still think that everything Yorkshire, especially Leeds-related, is the best.

Favourite piece of trivia about the region?

Not many people seem to know it, even some that live here, but Yorkshire is the largest county in the UK.

What is your favourite cultural icon to come out of Yorkshire?

The Yorkshire pudding.

Worst experience or thing about Yorkshire?

The weather!

What is one thing you’d steal from Lancashire (or other UK regions) if you could?

The northern Scottish lochs. They are utterly stunning.

What is the most overrated thing about Yorkshire?

The weather!
