Healthcare provider and recruitment agency wins contract to support autism specialist

William Draper

Hull-headquartered healthcare provider & recruitment agency Sure Healthcare, part of the Sure Group, has scooped a regional contract that will see significant growth of its service offerings.

It has partnered with Autism Plus, a South Yorkshire-headquartered charity that works in the north of England to support people with learning disabilities, mental health conditions and complex needs.

The new contract means Sure Healthcare will be the main recruitment partner for all of Autism Plus’s sites, including supported living facilities. Sure Healthcare will provide a dedicated team of consultants to meet all the care needs for Autism Plus, supplying a range of staff at assisted living facilities throughout the north of England.

Sure Healthcare’s new home care offering is the latest development as the company continues to expand its presence in the healthcare sector.

Will Draper, director of Sure Healthcare, said: “We are really pleased to have developed this partnership with Autism Plus. It shows our ambition to continue to grow and spread our services and expertise further afield.

“We spent a number of years perfecting our compliance in the healthcare division as we were supporting residential and nursing homes and we saw a gap in the market for a smaller, more boutique feel agency that could give that extra bit of quality opposed to the higher more volume driven providers.

“We’re very excited to be working with and supporting Autism Plus. The charity provides amazing support to people with complex care needs and our services will mean the individuals they support are in safe hands.”

Emma Piper, head of recruitment at Autism Plus, said: “We’re delighted to be working with Sure Healthcare as our new recruitment partner. The company’s expertise will be crucial in providing high quality staffing solutions for our growing portfolio of supported living facilities in the North of England as well as our residential setting in Thorne, Doncaster.

“At Autism Plus we pride ourselves on providing committed and passionate staff who offer understanding and people-centric care. Our aim is for the individuals we support to develop and flourish in their lives and for this we need a recruitment partner we can trust. Sure Healthcare ticks all the boxes for us and we’re looking forward to developing our partnership.”

Sure Healthcare has grown in the last four years and currently operates between 75 to 100 staff a week on part or full time rotas dependant on employee availability.

It started off initially purely as agency and labour support, with ad hoc staff support for residential and nursing homes. More recently the company has received its CQC accreditation, evolving the business to not only being a labour provider but now being a healthcare provider in its own right.

Draper added: “What we do now is work with a number of specialised supporting living companies, charities mainly, who have 24-hour care requirements, where our staff need to have quite complex training needs.

“This includes Management of Actual of Potential Aggression (MAPA) training, safeguarding etc and that’s were our sweet spot has become recently.

“We still cover all the residential and nursing homes, but supported living charities has been an important sector for us in the last six months allowing us to push further into community care and domiciliary care working with local councils or private customers.”
