East Yorkshire-based Cromar Building Products has confirmed its acquisition of waterproofing repair brand Acrypol Products.

This is the first acquisition for the company, which has a turnover of £27m and manufactures roofing and building products.

Acrypol, which is located in Warrington, was founded in 1986 with a mission to provide quality roof repair and waterproofing products for the trade, beginning with just the one product Acrypol+.

Its flagship product is sold into more than 2,000 stockists throughout the UK. Acrypol’s portfolio of products was expanded over the years to include complimentary goods such as Tech Seal and Metal-Kote in order to fulfil growing customers demand.

Mike Marshall, managing director of Cromar, said: “Acrypol is such a renowned name within our industry, it will make an excellent addition to the existing Cromar family of products.

“We are really looking forward to developing the Acrypol brand name further and consulting with the Acrypol specialists to develop even more great roofing products for the trade.”

Wayne Morgan, sales director of Acrypol, said “Acrypol has over 30 years of recognised excellence and we cannot think of a better company to take this brand onto the next level. With the combined knowledge and customer base of the two businesses the future is definitely looking bright.”

All orders will continue to go through the Acrypol office in Warrington.

Cromar Building Products was advised by Mike Jackson at BHP Corporate Finance and Rachel Dean and Hannah Nelson at Clarion.
