Demand prompts tech business to open another base

Technology company virtualDCS, which offers cloud computing and disaster recovery solutions, has expanded into Hull’s Centre for Digital Innovation. (C4DI)

This was after the company saw a huge increase in demand for its cloud-based services across East Yorkshire.

virtualDCS will now have a permanent residence within Hull to host and collaborate with its clients and suppliers, in addition to its long-standing head office in Leeds.

2019 was the firm’s most successful year to date, as it welcomed more new customers than ever before.

Its progress was aided by the introduction of new services including CloudCover 365, an office backup solution, in addition to increased focus and emphasis on its partner channel.

Andrew Low, business development manager for virtualDCS, said: “In 2019 R&D development spend reached £50m within Hull and it has a rapidly expanding digital and tech community, which virtualDCS is thrilled to be a part of.

“The entire C4DI centre is focused on digital and technology progression. The very building itself reflects the goals and values of virtualDCS as a business and confirmation of our new residency provides an excellent end to 2019.”

He added that he and his team are recruiting for new staff to join the company in 2020.
