Retailer expands its presence at £70m industrial and distribution site

Roadside retail property business, Euro Garages has bought a 1.2-acre plot to expand its presence at Symmetry Park, Doncaster.

The EG Group, which has a portfolio of around 4,500 sites across the UK, mainland Europe, the USA and Australia, already occupies a one-acre site at Symmetry Park where Starbucks and KFC have been successful since opening last year.

It has now committed to double the size of its roadside offer with a further branded fast food offering.

Located on the North Nottinghamshire/South Yorkshire border, Symmetry Park is a £70m industrial and distribution scheme being delivered by Tritax Symmetry.

The national logistics developer has committed to deliver up to 721,000 sq ft of logistics space on the site and has already completed the first phase of speculative development. A 150,000 sq ft unit with ancillary offices and generous parking is now available for occupation and has been designed with great flexibility, allowing for extension up to 250,000 sq ft.

Freddie Oakey, associate development director at Tritax symmetry, said: “Euro Garages has enjoyed very strong trading since opening Starbucks and KFC at Symmetry Park and we have received fantastic feedback from both commuters and nearby communities.

“We are delighted that Euro Garages plans to deliver another fast food offering on site which, combined with facilities at the service station just opposite, provides a very broad amenity offering to new occupiers at Symmetry Park.”

David Myers, development director at Euro Garages, said: “This transaction represents a strategic purchase for the EG Group in a high-profile roadside location. The acquisition became an easy decision for our business to make on the back of excellent trading of our Starbucks and KFC units and the high-quality specification of the adjacent industrial development.

“Working with Tritax Symmetry was a pleasure and we look forward to extending our relationship elsewhere.”
