New owner for distinctive, listed retail premises

A buyer has been found for a store in a Grade II listed building near Doncaster.

Specialist property business adviser, Christie & Co, has announced the sale of The Old Garage Convenience Store, a former petrol station in Rossington.

The previous owners, who are retiring, have thanked ex retailer Manish Jadav, of Christie & Co, who handled the sale.

The new owner, Mr Ali Yildirim is a first-time buyer and is relocating from Weymouth in order to run the shop. He is planning to develop the store and grow the business.

Yildirim said: “Buying the store was made so much easier with Manish’s help, advice and dedication to this deal.  A big thanks to Matt Gudgeon at Christie Finance also, who helped secure the finance for this purchase.”

Matt Gudgeon, finance consultant with Christie Finance, secured the finance for Yildirim to complete the purchase of The Old Garage.

He said: “First time buyers often encounter difficulties when raising finance as lenders seek to gain comfort from relevant experience of applicants.

“This is compounded for sectors such as retail, as policies around retail lending are often focused towards high street retail rather than convenience retail.

“I was delighted to secure finance to allow Mr Yildirim and Mr Marasli to acquire the business. I wish them the best of luck in their new venture.”

Jadav, business agent at Christie & Co, added: “The market is busy at the moment and this sale highlights the ongoing demand from buyers from the south to acquire well-located sites in the north, a trend which we are currently seeing.

“We had many calls for this store while it was in the process of completing, with quite a few buyers on standby, had the deal fallen through.”
