Developer applies to build more than 50 apartments

Plans for 52 new Build to Rent apartments in Sheffield have been revealed.

The application has been submitted by developer Beluga Projects, a north west-based company making its first foray into Yorkshire.

Intended for a brownfield site at the junction of London Road and Hill Street, a five minute walk from the city centre, the proposals feature 34 one-bedroom apartments and 18 two-bedroom apartments.

The plans have been submitted by Johnson Mowat Planning and Development Consultants, working with Niemen Architects.

They say the scheme represents a high density form of development, which would make a significant contribution towards the city’s housing land supply and affordable housing targets.

Managing director of Beluga Projects, Paul Duffy, said: “We look forward to developing our first project in Yorkshire.

“Where possible we have looked to use Yorkshire-based consultants and therefore I would like to personally thank the project team for their advice and guidance.”

Beluga Projects has been supported by Andrew Moseley Associates, Futures Ecology, Wardell Armstrong, Novo Integration, ARP, Brennan Consult and ENS.”
