Vehicle repair and maintenance chain to launch new base

Family run business Formula One Autocentres, one of the country’s largest independent autocentre chains, has acquired a new site in Castleford, resulting in the creation of at least seven jobs.

The 4,400 sq ft unit on the 1.5-acre site at Park Road was bought by commercial property developers Eshton in 2019. Formula One Autocentre’s new state-of-the-art fast-fit centre is due to be completed in the second quarter of 2021.

Formula One Autocentres has over 800 staff providing a full range of services including tyres, exhausts, batteries, brakes, clutches, MOT’s, and servicing.

The Castleford centre marks the company’s 127th branch and is designed to play a key part in its expansion strategy across Yorkshire, which started with the acquisition of sites in Shipley and Leeds.

A spokesman for the business said: “We’re thrilled to be opening our 127th branch in the UK, and our third centre near Leeds.

“The new centre will create a number of new jobs at the site when it opens in the second quarter of 2021.

“We look forward to serving and supporting the local community, whilst introducing them to our mission to deliver a completely new fast-fit experience to its customers.”

Eshton director, Richard Tovey, said: “We always knew the site at Castleford had the potential to attract leading businesses, so are pleased to already have Formula One Autocentres signed up as a tenant – the prestige of this letting proves the strength of the area and is testament to our choice of location.”
