Fresh plans lodged for industrial scheme next to retail park

The Derwent Group has submitted fresh plans to bring forward a long-consented industrial scheme on strategic development land, next to Anlaby Retail Park in Hull.

The group’s revised plans comprise 40,000 sq ft of industrial space to the north east of the retail park, which will be split into a number of individual units.

Units will range in size from 1,500 sq ft to 10,000 sq ft, with the option of adding a mezzanine floor.

Andrew Day, senior asset manager at The Derwent Group which owns the Anlaby Retail Park site, said: “The refreshed plans maintain the site’s required employment use and will provide much-needed flexible and modern industrial accommodation to meet the requirements of local occupiers.

“These plans also demonstrate The Derwent Group’s wider commitment to expanding our industrial portfolio and actively bringing high quality new industrial space to the market.”

Subject to planning, the scheme is expected to be complete by early 2023.

David Garness, director at Garness Jones, acting agent for the scheme said: “This scheme has been designed to reflect local market demand for industrial space and will capitalise on the success and amenity of neighbouring Anlaby Retail Park.”

The site forms part of The Derwent Group’s strategic land portfolio and joins Glasshouse, a 124,000 sq ft industrial scheme in Wigan, which has also been submitted for full planning permission.

Anlaby Retail Park features 12 units totalling 103,000 sq ft of retail space.  The park is home to M&S Foodhall, Next, Costa and Pure Gym among others.
