Care home business acquisition creates combined firm with over 1,500 staff

Yorkshire-based specialist care provider, Park Homes (UK) Limited, has acquired EachStep Care, an older people’s care home business, significantly expanding its footprint in the North of England and Scotland.

Following approval by the care regulators for England and Scotland, the deal sees all of the 15 care homes, which were a division of national social care charity, Community Integrated Care, transfer to Park Homes.

Both businesses have worked together ahead of the completion to ensure a smooth transition and the deal sees all frontline colleagues and members of EachStep Care’s leadership team transfer to Park Homes.

Following the deal, the combined business provides care for over 1,000 residents and employs over 1,500 people.

Adam Kaucher, corporate partner at Irwin Mitchell, led the team advising Park Homes. Clare Davitt and William Ogden from Irwin Mitchell’s Real Estate team also advised on the deal.

Irwin Mitchell was assisted by Thorntons in Scotland. Mike Clifford, head of corporate health and care at Weightmans, advised Community Integrated Care on the transaction.
