Yorkshire-based specialist care provider, Park Homes (UK) Limited, has acquired EachStep Care, an older people’s care home business, significantly expanding its footprint in the North of England and Scotland.

Following approval by the care regulators for England and Scotland, the deal sees all of the 15 care homes, which were a division of national social care charity, Community Integrated Care, transfer to Park Homes.

Both businesses have worked together ahead of the completion to ensure a smooth transition and the deal sees all frontline colleagues and members of EachStep Care’s leadership team transfer to Park Homes.

Following the deal, the combined business provides care for over 1,000 residents and employs over 1,500 people.

Adam Kaucher, corporate partner at Irwin Mitchell, led the team advising Park Homes. Clare Davitt and William Ogden from Irwin Mitchell’s Real Estate team also advised on the deal.

Irwin Mitchell was assisted by Thorntons in Scotland. Mike Clifford, head of corporate health and care at Weightmans, advised Community Integrated Care on the transaction.

Kaucher said: “This deal is a major landmark in the 25 year history of Park Homes, who already operate six specialist dementia care homes in West Yorkshire and Scotland.

“The sector has and continues to face a number of challenges as well as the demand for innovative, modern and truly specialist care.

“I’m very confident that Park Homes’ infrastructure, expertise and investment in the homes, will ensure the ongoing success of all of their services.”

Clifford said: “We’re really pleased to have assisted Community Integrated Care and Park Homes in bringing this cross-border, dual regulator care business transaction to a successful conclusion.

“This deal enables Community Integrated Care to concentrate on the continued growth of their Independent Living services whilst providing the opportunity for Park Homes to expand its existing elderly care business for the benefit of residents and employees.”
