Property people: Lambert Smith Hampton and Preston Baker

National commercial property consultancy, Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH), continues to recruit specialist expertise to strengthen its Leeds-based Building Consultancy team.

It has strengthened its Building Consultancy arm with two new hires into the Leeds Office with Tom Wright and Aaron Lacey joining the team as surveyor and associate director, respectively.

This latest announcement comes alongside the recent promotion of Isabelle Furter to senior surveyor.

Wright joins from CBRE and Lacey joins from JLL, where he spent six years.

They will be responsible for providing all aspects of building consultancy related advice to both public and private sector clients across the region, including project management and dilapidations advice.

Wright and Lacey bring with them a combined 15 years of commercial property expertise gained in the UK property industry, having both worked on high profile projects across commercial, industrial and retail projects.

These latest hires follow on from the appointment of Max Colley, who joined the team from Aspect 4 Ltd in the spring of 2021.

Liam Keogh, who heads the Leeds Building Consultancy team, said: “Alongside Izzy’s recent promotion, testament to her hard work and dedication, we are excited to have both Tom and Aaron joining us to strengthen our service offering to both public and private sector clients across the region.

“We are committed to working with the most talented individuals in the sector and our two new hires are testament to that.

“Utilising their combined years of experience, I am sure they will be assets to the team and we look forward to helping them develop their careers at LSH.”

Lacey added: “It’s fantastic to be joining Lambert Smith Hampton in an exciting period of growth for the firm as we emerge from the pandemic.

“The skills I have gained in my previous role at JLL will help me to provide advice to businesses across multiple sectors in order to maximise the value of their assets and deliver meaningful property solutions.”

Yorkshire company Preston Baker has appointed a new in-house head of planning, Rob Crolla, as it expands its New Homes, Land and Planning Division.

Crolla, who has over 20 years of planning experience, said: “It’s such an exciting time to join Preston Baker and head up the new in-house planning team with the focus on offering the very best value and service to our clients.

“I am looking to grow the planning team and the pipeline of new sites and related planning applications.

“We look to identify sites in Yorkshire that are suitable for planning, preferably for between five and 50 houses, and then look after the entire process for the landowners, covering the cost of planning and helping them to realise the full value of the land.

“Our expertise in the planning landscape allows us to put forward informed and impactive cases. That’s where the real job satisfaction is; in getting consents through for clients.”

Crolla said there was a real lack of housing supply presently, meaning there has never been a better time for landowners to realise the value of their land.

“Releasing money from unused or unwanted land can create much-needed housing and also give individuals and families money to pursue ventures, dreams and life goals,” he said.

Crolla, who lives in Tadcaster, is a highly experienced chartered town planner who has delivered numerous, complex planning consents for a wide variety of developments across the UK, for landowners, developers and operators.

His experience includes roles with Asda, Savills, Indigo Planning and CODA Planning.
