Consent given for more than 300 homes at 36-acre site

House builder Redrow has secured planning permission for 320 new homes in the village of Ravenfield, near Rotherham.

The company acquired the 36-acre development, off Moor Lane South, earlier this year and work is due to start imminently, with the first homes scheduled to go on sale in the early summer.

The plans granted will include a mix of three, four and five-bedroom homes, with 240 homes for private sale and 80 affordable properties.

Located at the centre of the development – which is to be marketed under the name Poppy Fields – will be a large area of open space, featuring a play area and a community orchard.

John Handley, managing director at Redrow Yorkshire, said: “Our new development in Ravenfield is meeting strong local demand with a wide choice of homes from our Heritage Collection, which combines Arts and Crafts influenced architecture with thoroughly modern interiors.

“We have also listened to our customers who have requested family friendly layouts, gardens and access to green open space on the development – and this development will offer all of those things and more.”
