Construction begins on latest phase of industrial and logistics hub

Property management business, PLP, says construction has begun on four prime industrial and logistics units at Phase 2 at PLP Bessemer Park, in Sheffield.

Due to complete from quarter three 2023, PLP Bessemer Park is an urban logistics development offering units of 83,000 sq ft, 94,000 sq ft, 135,000 sq ft and 292,000 sq ft.

Winvic Construction Ltd has been appointed as main contractor for the scheme, with the first units becoming available for occupation in Q3 2023.

Once finished, the scheme will achieve a carbon net zero status. It will include the use of solar photovoltaics, air source heating and cooling, LED lighting and electric car charging points.

Hugh Chesterton, development director at PLP, said: “PLP Bessemer Park is a best-in-class development in an unrivalled location.

“It is extremely rare to be able to offer a large scale industrial and logistics development with both immediate motorway access, while being also being able to accommodate urban logistics operators to supply the Sheffield urban population.”

Knight Frank, Moriarty and Co and CBRE are the letting agents on the scheme.
