The number of partners in Addleshaw Goddard’s Global Investigations practice is rising to 10.

It follows the arrival from Jones Day of Harriet Territt, who has over 20 years’ experience resolving significant financial regulatory, investigations, compliance and dispute issues for a client portfolio comprising several of the world’s largest banks and multinational companies.

She also has a growing practice working with clients on liability, risk, and governance issues in relation to emerging technologies and fintech, particularly blockchain and digital assets, decentralised finance, AI implementations, and consumer facing products.

Territt regularly advises on complex issues related to global financial sanctions and money laundering rules, including representing clients before the Financial Conduct Authority and the Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation.

She has undertaken highly confidential internal investigations and compliance assurance reviews in the financial and regulated sectors.

Leeds-based Harriet is the first partner hire in Leeds for the Global Investigations practice.

The practice specialises in advising on matters across all aspects of corporate crime, including money laundering, fraud, bribery and corruption, asset recovery and sanctions, health and safety and environmental.

It also takes more unusual instructions relating to blackmail, perverting the course of justice, criminal contempt of court and has a growing expertise in investigations and enforcement actions relating to cryptoassets.

Nichola Peters, head of the global investigations practice at Addleshaw Goddard, said: “Harriet has considerable experience across a number of our strategic growth areas and will add very significantly to our bench strength and experience in litigation and contentious regulatory work, risk and compliance assurance, and investigations, especially given the increasing focus on ESG and reforms to director liability and accountability, enforceable by ARGA.

“Harriet’s interest in digital assets and fintech introduces an exciting dimension to our practice, particularly disputes and investigations arising out of risk, governance and systems controls relating to such issues.”

Rillington-based Ellis Patents has further strengthened its sales team by appointing Kirby Gregory as a sales and customer service executive.

Kelly Brown, sales director, said: “Our sales operation covers 50 different export markets, with local distributors in each, as well as our domestic sales operation.

“Kirby’s job is to ensure all the different elements of the sales process run smoothly so no opportunities are missed or customers left lacking in terms of service.

“It’s certainly a big job, but working alongside fellow sales and customer service executive, Claire Dale, it’s one I’m confident she’ll excel in.”

Gregory said: “I’m very excited to be joining Ellis Patents. The company has a great reputation – both as a manufacturer of cable cleats and a local employer – and I’m looking forward to playing my part in its continued success.”
