People: Begbies Traynor; Axiologik; Objective; and more

Qualified lawyer and insolvency expert, Mike Sharp, has joined independent business rescue and recovery specialist Begbies Traynor as an insolvency consultant, working across its offices in York and Teesside.

With over 35 years’ experience, his long career in insolvency law began in 1985 and includes senior roles, such as finance partner, at leading law firms in Harrogate as well as, most recently, working for a small, independent insolvency practice.

He has worked in North Yorkshire and lived in Ripon for the last 20 years.

After retiring 15 months ago, Sharp has decided to return to work, helping to process insolvency cases at Begbies Traynor’s growing Teesside office in Stockton-on-Tees as well as supporting its team in York.

He said: “I’ve known the guys at Begbies Traynor for many years – I like them and I trust them so when I was offered the chance to help support the Yorkshire and Teesside operations, it was too good an opportunity to miss.

“I’m pleased to be part of such a reputable team and, with my expertise in the field, I hope to further boost their capacity to support businesses across the region.”

Mark Greenley

Axiologik, a digital evolution consultancy based in Leeds, has appointed four new members of staff as part of a recruitment drive as the company continues to grow.

Joining the tech consultancy are Richard Tulley – engagement director, Louise Sewell – delivery manager, Dave Archbold – product manager and Mark Greenley – product principle.

With a wealth of experience in delivering complex programmes, Tulley joins with seven clear goals in mind to help improve the company’s current offerings.

Included in those is to make a positive societal impact, develop a diverse and inclusive organisation, support the development of a high performing team and be able to retain focus on both professional and personal development of our colleagues and associates.

He said: “I’m really looking forward to being more than my job description. This means being able to contribute in a variety of ways, such as mentoring, volunteering, shaping our service offerings and practices and developing propositions.

Changing sectors from retail banking to consulting, Sewell formerly helped to implement front office trading systems.

Now she joins the team as to support the firm’s ongoing COVID-19 response and NHS Digital Vaccines Programme.

Archbold previously found success in Product Management working across a number of industries including Mobile, Tech and Comms at O2, Logistics at Yodel, Business Services and Healthcare at NHS SBS and Finance at Satsuma and Vanquis.

At Axiologik, he hopes to build the current Product Practice and help the business expand into new areas.

Greenley, began designing websites back in 1998 and since then has gone on to deliver the digital face of Speedo’s 2012 Olympic products, a new e-commerce website for one of the country’s most innovative telecoms brands, KCOM, and helped the shift towards agile ways of working at E-On.

Most recently he held senior Product Management posts at online businesses, SaleCyle and Victoria Plum.

Greenley said: “I was attracted to Axiologik as it really felt like a business wanting to make a positive difference for the organisations it works with and importantly, understanding that the beneficiaries of that work, user, citizen, visitor must feel that their needs are met.

Sheffield creative marketing agency, Objective, has appointed an experienced business development manager.

Will Sutherland has more than ten years’ experience managing successful businesses and he will now be responsible for nurturing fresh opportunities with B2B clients.

The appointment is confirmed in a year which has seen major expansion for the agency’s team, following the appointment of five B2B specialists in recent months.

Managing director Dan Broadbent said: “We work with businesses at board level to deliver strategic marketing, creative and digital projects, and Will’s breadth of experience will further strengthen our position, as we work hard to expand our portfolio of B2B clients.”

Will is a member of the well known Sutherland family, the makers of Sutherlands potted meat.

Objective has also recently been awarded Patron status by Barnsley and Rotherham Chamber of Commerce.

Chartered surveying firm, Bruton Knowles, has promoted Nicholas Broadway to senior associate within the National Valuation Team.

Based out of the Leeds office, his promotion comes as part of the firm’s plans to invest in the growth of its four National Teams.

The appointment comes alongside a string of internal promotions that sees Nicole Fitzpatrick promoted to partner, Andrew Sellick promoted to senior associate and Will Matthews and Richard Smale’s promotion to associates.

Broadway steps into the role following a nine-year career at Bruton Knowles which started as a graduate surveyor in 2013,

He brings knowledge and expertise that goes across both the markets and the firm, specialising in loan security valuations, as well as undertaking valuations for charities, local authorities and for account purposes.

He said: “The fact that we’re a national team with offices across the UK opens a lot of opportunities.

“I’m happy to continue my career progression at Bruton Knowles in my new role as a senior associate as we push forward with the adoption of new technologies across our National Valuation Team.
