Andrew Jackson Solicitors has promoted Grace Moreton to the position of senior solicitor in the corporate recovery and insolvency team.

Moreton trained and qualified as a corporate solicitor, gaining experience of acting for a range of businesses across different sectors before specialising in restructuring and insolvency work for clients based in the UK and overseas. Her broad client base includes company directors, corporate stakeholders, financial institutions, and insolvency practitioners.

Her work focuses on non-contentious insolvency and restructuring matters, which require specialist knowledge of company procedures including share allotments and transfers, and the preparation and completion of company documentation. She is particularly experienced in drafting and advising on asset sales and purchases, bank security reviews, insolvent property and real estate work, and commercial contracts.

Zeynep Turunc

PwC has admitted six new partners and promoted 16 new directors in the latest round of promotions in the North.

Across all of the 22 senior promotions, 11 will be based in Manchester, nine in Leeds and two in Newcastle.

Jonathan Lloyd has been promoted to tax partner. He has been with PwC since 1990 and has been based in the North for his entire career, supporting clients in the UK and globally, meeting their reporting requirements to stakeholders.

Craig Willis, who joined the firm in 2008, will become an audit partner, focusing on growing the Northern business unit, and supporting our people in their growth and development within the firm, with a particular focus on social mobility.

Zeynep Turunc is promoted to deals partner. She has lived in Manchester for over 20 years and is responsible for the growth of PwC’s Financial Crime practice in Manchester and Scotland. She joined the firm in 2018.

Dan Pearson is promoted to audit partner. He leads PwC’s Stakeholder Assurance work in the firm’s Northern region (Northern England, Scotland and Northern Ireland), focusing on issuing audit-style opinions over metrics, statements, processes and controls beyond the financial statements.

Georgie Bryce will join the deals practice, leading PwC’s Deals Insights & Analytics team in the North West and will focus on deploying advanced analytics to drive value across the deal lifecycle. She joined the firm in 2011.

Andy Russell will become an audit partner, and has been with PwC since 2010. His new role will be an audit engagement partner for clients across a variety of sectors, supporting businesses in the region by leading high quality external audits.

York-based accountancy firm Hunter Gee Holroyd has recruited a new director.

Hunter Gee Holroyd, which has offices in York, Easingwold and Filey, said James Pullein would begin his new role with immediate effect.

He has a wealth of experience advising owner-managed businesses and is also the lead contact for anything digital, including accountancy software, cloud-based systems, and Xero implementation.

He said: “We have ambitious plans for the future, including a fully digital workplace and helping businesses with the transformation to digital tax which will be a growing area of our business.

“Our end goal is to make a difference to our clients’ lives. Being a digital practice with a focus on what’s coming next has allowed us to provide a better service to our clients.

“I am also looking forward to being able to concentrate on strategic developments which will help pave the way for future growth.”
