Care home opening creates more than 80 jobs
Exemplar Health Care has officially opened a new £5.2m care home in South Yorkshire.
Potters Green supports adults living with dementia, acquired brain injuries, complex mental health conditions and physical health conditions.
It has created over 80 jobs in the local area, but several roles are still to be recruited for including a care assistant, a registered nurse, and an activities co-ordinator.
Split into two, ten-bed communities, each of the 20 bedrooms has its own en-suite wet room. The home also features communal and activity space, sensory and therapy rooms, and landscaped gardens.
Kim Payne, home manager, said: “I am excited to welcome our first residents and colleagues to the newly opened home.
“We are proud to offer high quality care for those in need and to have created many new job opportunities for the local community.
“Potters Green will provide more for the community than just a care home; it will be a place for people to live well, enjoy life, and thrive.”
Charlotte Lloyd, director of commissioning at Exemplar Health Care, added: “We believe Potters Green will have a profound and lasting positive impact on the lives of everyone in the community, enabling people to live and be cared for closer to their community, their loved ones, and without needing to be in an institutional hospital setting, helping ease pressure on the NHS.”
