Transport and logistics firm appoints administrators

A Humber-based transport and logistics firm is facing an uncertain future, TheBusinessDesk.com understands.

Mark Stewart Limited, which is based in North Killingholme, posted a notice of appointment to appointment administrators.

The applicant behind the move is Bibby Financial Services which holds a charge over the company.

Shortly after the notice was first posted, FRP Advisory was named as the administrator to the stricken business. Mark Hodgett and Philip Pierce are taking over the day-to-day running of the company.

Mark Stewart offers transport and logistics services across the UK, mainland Europe and Scandinavia and regularly services the North Lincolnshire ports of Immingham and Killingholme.

A statement on the company’s website says: “With years of experience in the logistics industry, we at Mark Stewart International Ltd possess in-depth knowledge and a thorough understanding of diverse market requirements.

“From Haulage and freight forwarding to warehousing and supply chain management, Mark Stewart International Ltd offers a complete suite of services that caters to the unique needs of each client.”

In its latest accounts, made up to the end of October 2022, Mark Stewart posted a loss of £200,000. At the time it employed 25 people.
