Leeds lawyers act on tech consultancy’s sale to Accenture

The corporate team at law firm Addleshaw Goddard has advised the founders and management of technology consultancy 6point6 on its sale to leading global professional services company Accenture.

The deal to buy 6point6, which specialises in cloud, data, and cybersecurity, will see Accenture enhance its strategy and architecture capabilities, with a particular emphasis on central government, defence and security, and financial services.

6point6, which has around 400 staff and offices in London and Manchester, has a track record of delivering large scale projects for the UK central government to transform digital capabilities and modernise legacy systems. Its work includes the largest cloud migration in Europe, with the shift of an entire UK government department to a single cloud-based digital infrastructure, and the adoption of machine learning to boost productivity for a multinational energy company.

Addleshaw Goddard’s team advising on the deal was led by Richard Hunt, supported by Carly Gulliver, Tom Hopwood, Charlotte Martin, Nazaneen Ahmadi and Ryan Barker (Corporate), Martin Griffiths (Tax) and Mark Crane (Competition).

Completion of the transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approval.
