Established tent manufacturer resumes trading following acquisition
Bradford-based tent manufacturer BCT Outdoors, which filed a notice to appoint an administrator in August, has been acquired out of administration by The Beal Group.
BCT Outdoors Ltd, which had a factory in Broomfields, south of the city centre, has been trading for more than 100 years.
Its product range has been used by Scouts, Guides and other youth groups as well as for festivals and individual customers looking for tents, “glamping” options and garden marquee products.
The Beal Group has two manufacturing bases, one in Glasgow and the other in the West Midlands. It says that from now on, BCT Outdoors will operate from one of these two bases, creating new jobs at both sites.
Beal Group managing director, David Beal, said: “I couldn’t be more excited to bring BCT Outdoors into the Beal Group fold.
“The company stands for everything important to us, quality products that last – all made right here in the UK.
“Our company was started in 1979 and we remain a family-controlled business passionate about our products and service levels.
“With a combined manufacturing facility of over 125,000 sq ft and years of technical expertise, I’d like to reassure BCT Outdoors customers that we are here and will reliably fulfil all their requirements.”
