Manufacturing giant swoops for waterproofing specialist

Saint-Gobain, which has a manufacturing base in Eggborough, East Yorkshire, has acquired Menkol Industries Private Ltd, an Indian producer of waterproofing systems.
The deal is designed to strengthen Saint-Gobain’s Construction Chemicals position in added-value specialty building materials in the Indian market.
Menkol Industries specialises in high-performance waterproofing systems for building foundations, which complement the existing Preprufe® patented waterproofing membranes from Saint-Gobain’s recent GCP acquisition.
Saint-Gobain designs, makes and distributes materials and services for the construction and industrial markets.
It generated €51.2bn worth of sales in 2022, has 168,000 employees and locations in 75 countries.
