City sports bar to reopen following £500,000 revamp

A Leeds sports bars will celebrate its 10th year of trading with a makeover and a new menu.

The Brotherhood has invested £500,000 into reinventing its New Briggate venue.

Enlisting the help of AXI Interior Design, the two-floor venue has been turned into an inviting space featuring vintage gentleman’s club influences and plenty of sports memorabilia.

The upstairs bar is more intimate, with a low-ceiling, timber beams, rugs and large bookcase. The venue also now has a private dining area, which has been designed to host birthdays, VIP meetings and special occasions.

There is also a secret snug, which is available to hire for smaller parties of up to 20 people. Gamers can take part in Xbox competitions, as well as pool and beer pong.

Included in the bar’s new look are several large screens, new lighting and a powerful sound system.

The Brotherhood’s bar owner, Seema Dhiman, will be unveiling a new food and drink menu, which is heavily inspired by past sporting legends and events.

The First XI cocktail collection includes proven winners, including classics such as a Negroni and a Long Island Iced Tea.

The Scout Report menu pays homage to horse racing, with original cocktail creations including Diego’s Double (a tequila coffee liqueur twist on the Espresso Martini), and the Black Ball Finish (an indulgent reimagining of an Old Fashioned with bourbon, maple syrup and black walnut bitters).

The Legends menu has concoctions ranging from the refreshing Bramble by Dick Bradsell to the boozy Straight up Punch (inspired by local bar legend Samantha Fish).

Meanwhile, the Corkers collection promises wines and bubbles and the non-contact range offers up tasty alcohol-free alternatives.

Brotherhood has teamed up with Hedonist drinks to create a limited line of drinks to celebrate its 10th year, including a coffee tequila, a great gin, and a spiced rum.

Food highlights include a classic club sandwich, a fish finger butty, and a selection of wings, burgers and bar snacks.

Dhiman said: “It has been a fantastic 10 years, and I am really excited about the next chapter. We have got fabulous plans and I believe I have created a superb environment for all Yorkshire sports fans.”

The new look bar reopens on 2 February with bookings now open.
